So few understood the richness, diversity and history that accompanied the first Africans to these shores. Fewer still, understood that because slavery was already well established in Africa by Africans, Americans were not morally excused to continue the practice.

In this corner, the quiz began. Each viewer was asked from where an object originated, what it meant, how was it used, how old was it—soon, the innocent viewer was caught up in a guessing game that demonstrated the general lack of knowledge concerning Africa. Then, out came the Kora, the thumb piano and other instruments… perhaps, things African aren’t too far removed after all…!
